My “Xero Australia Payroll Complete Training Course” is a course that I wish was available to me when I was learning how to use Xero.

As I became proficient at Xero, I realised the need for an easy-to-follow payroll course that could take you from a complete beginner to a pro in just a few hours.

So here you have it, a course that will step you through everything you need to know about setting up and using payroll in the Australian version of Xero.

What will I learn from this course?

First, you will learn how to set up and manage pay runs so you can confidently pay your employees on time, every time. You will learn how to pay employees weekly, fortnightly or monthly etc.and how to process unscheduled pay runs so you can adjust your employees’ pay or leave at any time.

Then, you will learn how to correctly set up your payroll settings. We will spend more than three hours on this topic to ensure you set up your payroll in Xero correctly before paying your staff.

We learn how to set up different earnings pay items for ordinary hours, overtime hours and allowances, and how to set up deductions for salary sacrificing, union fees and much more.

We will also cover how to set up public holidays and how to set up your employees’ regulated and self-managed superannuation funds.

You will then learn how your staff can us the the My Payroll portal where they can go to see their payslips, submit timesheets and apply for leave.

After that, we then look at how to manage leave applications for your employees and how to manage timesheets for your casual staff.

Then, we take a look at how you can save time and effort by paying superannation directly from Xero to your staff, before learning how to process expense reimbursements through payroll and reconciling the transactions in your accounts.

Finally, we use everything we have learned to set up a full-time, part-time and casual employee in Xero, and then create, check and process a pay run containing those employees. We then see how to pay their wages and superannuation before reconciling the transactions in our bank feed.

By the end of the course you should have the confidence and know-how to set up and run payroll in the Australian version of Xero for your business.

    What is the course structure?

** Please note that this course uses the Australian version of Xero however many concepts apply to payroll in all countries **
