  • ABOUT THE COURSE

Basics of Adobe Animate is a short introductory course in 2D animation focused on the tools and workflows behind the cut-out animation. In this course, with one single practical exercise, you’ll learn how to draw, rig and animate a cartoon car. The total length of the animation is 2 seconds with a frame rate of 24FPS.

The aim of this course is to introduce students to cut-out animation from an empty canvas to the final sequence. This multi-passes workflow is crucial for game animation regardless of the animation style or character. Understanding the animation workflow within the software medium you’ll discover that the approach of the animation is progressively and it’s being build-up in several steps.

This course also offers an insight into the cut-out rigging in connection to character animation. As 2D animators, we usually create our own setup, our own character and then we animate it.

    HOW TO APPROACH THE COURSE

The speed of the recording is real-time from start to finish and that makes it easy to follow and to work at the same time with me. Each lesson starts with a couple of min introduction for setting up the lesson goal and outcome. Also, each lesson comes along with specific working files, FLA files.

Note that the interface and the tools are being explained throughout the entire course as I prefer to explain them at the right time when they are being used.

    COURSE MODULES AND LESSONS

This course is being divided into 4 sections or modules. Each module is designed in several progressive lessons introducing the tools and workflow through on practical exercise.

The animation exercise represents 2 seconds of animation, a cartoon car travels the screen from one side to another and, it jumps over an obstacle.
