In this course, on the subject of fieldbus systems, we first of all deal with the history of fieldbus systems.

Further on in this course you will also learn the basics of fieldbus and fieldbus protocols.

After you have understood the basics, we will look at the first protocols and get to know them. Thus we start in the first section with the protocols for building automation, like BacNet, LON and KNX. At the end of this lesson we will compare these protocols and learn about the advantages and disadvantages of each protocol. 

In the following section we will also look at the fieldbus protocols for subsystems. These include SMI and Dali. 

In the last section we will look at the protocols for cross communication (IT/Industry). We will look at the protocols Modbus and SNMP. Also with these protocols we will learn about the advantages and disadvantages and compare them with each other
