Welcome to the course discussing the practice on modeling ArchiMate in action, base on the “ArchiMate Cookbook”.

This is the one new demo sessions after my another two ArchiMate related course – ArchiSurance and ArchiMetal modeling practices.

The ArchiMate? Specification, a standard of The Open Group, is an open and independent modeling language for Enterprise Architecture that is supported by different tool vendors and consulting firms. The ArchiMate Specification provides instruments to enable Enterprise Architects to describe, analyze, and visualize the relationships among business domains in an unambiguous way.

Just as an architectural drawing in classical building architecture describes the various aspects of the construction and use of a building, the ArchiMate Specification defines a common language for describing the construction and operation of business processes, organizational structures, information flows, IT systems, and technical infrastructure. This insight helps stakeholders to design, assess, and communicate the consequences of decisions and changes within and between these business domains.

ArchiMate Cookbook – authored by Eero Hosiaisluoma – covers ArchiMate patterns and examples, those of which can be used as recipes and inspiration sources when modelling concepts and solutions related to the development work of an organization. This document introduces the most useful diagram types and related ArchiMate-elements. This subset of ArchiMate-elements is grouped into the layers of ArchiMate Framework.

I’ll go through the Cookbook and demo every detail view’s modeling using Archi – an Open-Source ArchiMate Modeling Tool, enjoy!
