  • The course is designed for beginners and intermediate users wanting to learn how to create an ink illustration in Procreate
  • In this course you will learn how to ink an ornamental strip – called Headpiece – using Procreate 5X on Ipad.

I will provide you with a drawing already made – as I always do for all of my classes! – but, if you prefer, you can start from a blank document and follow me along during the inking process.

From the initial line work to the final touches, you will be guided through the entire process of making an ink illustration, using one simple default Procreate brush.

You are free to use any digital painting software, such as Photoshop, Affinity or Fresco, as both concept and process remain essentially the same.

    Course structure:

  • We’ll start by understanding what a Headpiece is.

  • After importing the drawing and setting up the document, we will go through the initial steps of the inking process, which is making an Outline and obtain a Stencil.

  • Then, we will go through the detailing process and you will learn how to modulate the lines in order to have a dynamic and stylish artwork.

  • Once finalised, we’ll see what we can do with an ornament of this kind, and how to create some physical objects.

  • Lastly, there will be a Class Project with 4 assignments that I would love you to do.
